On Tuesday around 6:18 p.m. the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to the area of Lake Avenue and Emerson Court in Elyria Township for a report of a motorcyclist shot.
ELYRIA, Ohio - The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office said one man is dead and one man is charged after reports Tuesday evening of shots fired at motorcyclists.
The LCSO said officers quickly arrested the suspect, Isaiah Makuch, 24, of Elyria near his relative’s home after receiving a search warrant.He is facing murder and gun charges, according to deputies, and is due back in court Thursday for arraignment. A news release said the incident began with multiple agencies receiving similar reports of a person shooting at motorcyclists.The second call came at 6:02 p.m. near North Leavitt Road and State Route 2 in AmherstDeputies said they found Trey Anthony Sukey, 30, of Lorain shot multiple times at the Elyria Township scene.In the earlier incidents, no one was shot, but deputies said a there is evidence that at least one motorcycle was hit.
Deputies arrested Makuch around 6:55 p.m. They located the suspect vehicle and recovered a handgun believed to be used in the shootings, according to the release.UH Elyria was briefly placed on a lockdown that has since been lifted.This is a developing story. Return to 19 News for updates.
