The Mechani-Kong is designed by an evil genius bent on controlling a rare element found only at the North Pole. Mechani-Kong is meant to dig it out for him. When Mechani-Kong fails, the genius known as Dr. Who ape-naps the real King Kong to finish the job.
5 Atragon Atragon is another Honda and Tsubaraya collaboration, and the movie features an antagonistic underwater empire similar to Atlantis, along with its deity, Manda. In the film, a heavily armored submarine capable of both underwater travel and flight stands as the only potential weapon against the empire bent on world domination. Both Manda and the ship, the Gotengo, went on to appear in Godzilla: Final Wars in 2004.
