After a hard-fought battle in the third period, the Blackhawks lost to the Colorado Avalanche 6-4 Friday at the United Center.
Since the start of the 2018-19 season, the Blackhawks have faced a lefty goaltender nine times. They've lost eight of those games and Pavel Francouz has three of the wins. I don't understand it.What a wild third period. There were two goals in the first two periods combined but eight total goals in the final frame. No lead changes, however. After the Blackhawks scored twice in a 40-second span, the Avalanche answered each Chicago goal all three times. They wouldn't go away.
Alex DeBrincat might be losing sleep over the pass he missed in the second period. Kane would've had a breakaway from his own blue line but the puck sailed on him and it didn't result in a scoring chance. Kane put his stick on his knees and stared at the ice before hopping back on the bench. He knew it was a missed prime opportunity. A goal there would've evened it up at 1-1, which would've been huge considering Colorado scored the next two goals to pull ahead 3-0.
