April is National Poetry Month, and whether you’re an avid poetry fan or a curious newcomer (hello and welcome — we’re so glad you’re here!), it’s the perfect time to settle in with a new book of poetry. Here are 13 of our recent favorites.
This extraordinary debut begins with a prose poem composed of sentences still rattling around inside my brain, images now imprinted in my heart. “In the beginning, the grass and trees and birds are already tired of their assigned names,” the poem’s speaker writes.
