In 1964, a San Francisco cable car accident made headlines for what happened to one of the victims. The crash resulted in a traumatic brain injury that rendered 23-year-old rider Gloria Sykes a nymphomaniac . In 1970, Sykes sued Muni and the city of San Francisco for $500,000. She was eventually awarded $50,000.
