There have now been 136 homicides in Jacksonville so far this year, according to JSO, which is more than all of 2021 when there was a total of 128.
According to JSO, a man was found behind a home with at least one fatal gunshot wound.The man, who was shot at least once, is between 50 and 60 years old, police said.
JSO said the two shootings are not connected, even though they happened less than two miles from each other.JSO is asking for the public’s help and anyone with information is asked to call the JSO non-emergency number at 630-0500 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-866-845-TIPS.
