Both Spider-Woman and Kingpin are still wrapped up in rights issues between Sony and Disney.
A new report reveals that there are still two important Spider-Man characters that remain tangled in the ongoing Disney and Sony rights dispute. Based on the Marvel Comics character, Spider-Man has now been brought to life by a number of different actors, including Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY According to Spider-Man book With Great Power by Sean O'Connell, shared courtesy of The Direct, both Kingpin and Spider-Woman remain stuck in the rights battle between Disney and Sony, with both studios sharing the rights to the characters. Although Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, has already been introduced into the MCU with Hawkeye, Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, has yet to appear in live-action in any form.
Fisk will not only appear in Echo, an upcoming Disney+ show about Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez, but is also confirmed to feature prominently in Daredevil: Born Again. After appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and most recently in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Cox's Daredevil is now firmly part of the MCU, with Daredevil: Born Again expected to serve as a soft reboot of sorts.
Spider-Woman's On-Screen Future Explained There are currently no plans in place for a live-action Spider-Woman feature film, but Olivia Wilde, who just recently directed Don't Worry Darling, has long been rumored to be attached to such a project. It's unclear if there's any validity to the rumors, but the hero has been confirmed to feature in the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animated film, voiced by Issa Rae.
