Chicago fire officials said two women were found dead in an Englewood home after a house fire on South Wolcott.

The fire broke out Tuesday evening at a house in the 7200-block of South Wolcott, Chicago fire officials said.

CFD said when firefighters arrived at the scene they found heavy fire in the back of the house which made it impossible for firefighters to go inside. After the fire was out, firefighters found two adult female victims dead in the wreckage, also in the back of the house. It was not immediately clear if the women died in the fire or before the fire. The victims are in their early forties and CFD believe they lived in the home. Fire officials said they believe they are sisters.

The Chicago Fire Department has not yet commented on any possible causes for the fire and said it remains under investigation. They said they found no working smoke detectors in the home.
