A woman was killed overnight in Jefferson County. Her children were home at the time but unharmed.
Deputies about 12:10 a.m. Saturday received a 911 call for help at a home in the 2400 block of Freemont Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman dead on the scene.
Deputy Chief David Agee said there appeared to be no forced entry into the home. A man was seen fleeing from the residence shortly before the 911 call was made. The woman’s death marks the 115th countywide so far this year, and the fifth investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in six days.
