It was warm enough -- even hot enough -- in Alabama on Tuesday to break records in several cities, according to the National Weather Service.Mobile did one better, not only hitting a record high for Nov. 8 but tying the all-time high temperature record for the month of November, according to the weather service in Mobile.* Anniston: 85 degrees, breaking the record of 84 degrees from 2005.* Huntsville: 84 degrees, breaking the record of 83 degrees from 2005.
* Mobile: 88 degrees, breaking the record of 83 degrees set in 1973, 1986 and 2005. Also is the all-time November high temperature for Mobile.The record-setting heat is over, however. Temperatures today and Thursday are expected to be closer to average for this time of year -- in the 60s and 70s.The combination of Tropical Storm Nicole and a polar cold front will send temperatures tumbling across Alabama starting on Friday and continuing through the weekend.
Low temperatures by Monday morning will be below freezing in north and central Alabama and in the 30s all the way into south Alabama.By Monday morning low temperatures will be in the 30s statewide. And the cooler weather could hang around for a while.
