Noah Flaman has been a TD scoring machine for Saskatoon Hilltops, who host the provincial rival Regina Thunder at SMF Field on Saturday.
Drake Douglas leads the Toppers with 35 receptions for 472 yards and three TDs. Flaman has hauled in 15 passes for 261 yards and six TD majors, tops for all PFC receivers.
Regina’s Carter Moberg has completed 91 of 171 passes for 1,449 yards and 13 TDs but giving up a league-high eight interceptions.Defensively, Saskatoon safety Dalton Urban has been making big plays this season. Defensive back Carter Wingert also has a fumble recovery for a TD to go along with two interceptions. Defensive end Riece Kack leads the PFC with 7.5 quarterback sacks in addition to two fumble recoveries. Kack has also been in on 15 tackles, seven of them solo efforts on defence.
The Edmonton Huskies are currently third in the standings. The Calgary Colts and Winnipeg Rifles are fighting for the final playoff spot. The Colts play the last-place Edmonton Wildcats this weekend while the Rifles are at home against the Huskies.The Hilltops will wrap up the regular season over the Thanksgiving weekend when they host the Winnipeg Rifles on Sunday, Oct. 8. Game-time is 1 p.m. at SMF Field in the Gordie Howe Sports Complex.
