Six Buffy stars won’t appear in the new series.

Gellar is not set to reprise her iconic role in Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, and the show's premise gives a hint as to why she is missing. While Spike, who is Buffy's ex-boyfriend, is undercover in Los Angeles, he encounters a Slayer from an alternate reality where Buffy never lived. As a result, Gellar is not involved in the upcoming sequel series. However, there is always the hope that she will reprise her Buffy the Vampire Slayer role in a future project.
Hannigan was not one of the names on the cast list for Slayers: A Buffyverse Story. Although her character's dead girlfriend, Tara Maclay, played by Amber Benson, is set to reprise her role in the audio series, Willow is not. It is disappointing that Willow, one of the most significant characters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will not be heard in the sequel. But since Benson is involved in the project, there might be some kind of mention of Willow in the audio series.
