Several middle school students at Keefer Crossing Middle School were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after ingesting THC-laced gummies, according to officials with New Caney Independent School District.

According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, THC is a psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis sativa plant, of which marijuana and hemp are two varieties.District officials said they cannot comment further as this is an active investigation.
