On stylish women like Nina Simone, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth, the simple scarf also became a fashion statement.
Kerchiefs of all sorts were seen on the fall runways of Versace, Max Mara, Dior, Anna Sui, Paco Rabanne and more. Versace debuted a 3-D-effect version of its La Greca pattern, which was inspired by Gianni and Donatella Versace’s love for ancient Greek motifs, specifically the Medusa and the Greek key. Scarves’ colorful patterns can add flair to the most classic outfits. For example, they make a nice contrast to a crisp button-down shirt.
