After 31 days of over 110-degree high temperatures, Phoenix has officially shattered the streak. But this July is still the hottest month on record.
, Phoenix hit a high of just 108 degrees Monday afternoon, shattering the seemingly endless streak of extra-hot days.
The previous record streak of over 110-degree temperatures was 18 days of consecutive highs, set in 1974.During the month of July 2022, there was a 10-day streak of over 110-degree weather with the hottest daily high of that month ranking in at 115 degrees. As high temperatures cooled, low temperatures did as well. The low came in at 83 degrees Monday morning at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which is 2 degrees below the normal/average temperature for the date. It hasn't been that cool since July 1 when the low was 81. Since then, low temperatures have fluctuated between the low to mid-90s.
