A Gearhead's Massive Collection Of Over 130 Classic And Muscle Cars Are Being Sold At No Reserve | Carscoops carscoops
Bidding has begun on the first of two online auctions of a massive trove of classic vehicles in Enid, Oklahoma. The former estate of Jim Lewis, a prominent auto dealer in the area, the listing features muscle car, American luxury cars, and even some European models, all offered without reserve.and was launched following the sad passing of Lewis on March 4, 2022.
A talented jockey in his youth, his love of horse-riding translated into a love of motorsports. In his early days, Lewis spent weekendswith friends outside of the Enid city limits, collecting trophies in the process. At the age of 23, he opened a used-car dealership and in the ’60s and ’70s was one of very few dealers in the state that sold high-performance muscle cars.As the vastness of the collection suggests, his real passion wasn’t so much selling cars as it was accumulating them.
As result, there are plenty of cars being auctioned off in all kinds of conditions and the collection is varied. A white 1968 Cadillac 4 door Fleetwood, for instance, seems to be in reasonably good shape, while a 1975for sale has seen better days. The collection, though, runs the gamut of American manufacturers while Porsche and Mercedes are represented, as well.
The auction is online only and will be taking place in two rounds. Final bids will be counted on March 31.
