Ohio State's third linebacker set a ton in the win over Notre Dame with a huge stop on the Buckeyes' first defensive drive.
It took a long time for someone to score in the Buckeeyes’ 17-14 win over the Fighting Irish and even longer for someone to score a touchdown even though both sides were in plus territory on numerous occasions. A lot of that is a credit to both defenses coming up with crucial stops at the right times when each offense elected to go for it on fourth down.
“That’s always the goal of the defense to find any way to stop the momentum,” Simon said. “To stop the offense from creating more plays. I was fortunate to be in that situation. That was a big play for our defense. Being able to get off the field is always big and to leave the field with no points is a big deal.
