The Phoenix city government isn’t alone in helping residents beat the heat.

The Phoenix Revitalization Corporation, a nonprofit organization, aims to expand and improve housing for communities across the city — particularly low-income communities. Eva Ordonez Olivas, executive director and CEO of the Phoenix Revitalization Corporation, said it’s crucial for cities to target their heat response to the communities that suffer the effects of extreme heat the most.
