Right next to Wrigley Field on Thursday, the focus wasn’t baseball but blood.
Across the street from Wrigley Field, the focus Thursday moved away from baseball for a little while and turned to life-saving blood donations.
"In the beginning, she didn't even want her name associated with it, but we didn't stand for that," said Rob Sandford. "We realized very quickly just how important blood donations are to cancer patients, let alone trauma victims and anyone else who needs transfusions," said Sandford.Thursday's event by Wrigley was a warm-up of sorts for a huge blood drive happening Saturday.
