Invincible season 2 debuts on November 3.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Invincible season 2 will have a different multiverse story, according to creator Robert Kirkman. Returning to Prime Video on November 3 after a long absence, the superhero animated show will pick up from where the previous season left off in terms of examining the fractured relationship between Mark/Invincible and his father Nolan/Omni-Man .
Kirkman, who also wrote the comics on which Invincible is based, told IGN that the multiverse of Invincible season 2 will be different thanks to new villain Angstrom Levy . The multiverse idea comes into play due to Levy's powers, but unlike other properties, the concept will not be leaned on too heavily. Read Kirkman's full quote below:
“I think if Angstrom Levy's the backbone villain, I think that that's his core story. I don't think that we lean on it too heavily, and I also want to stress that we're exploring the multiverse in a much different way. I think that there's no end of movies and TV shows that are exploring that right now. We have a slightly different angle on it that I think makes it fresh and new, but yeah, it's a big part of who his character is.
Angstrom Levy Could Take Invincible To New Heights In the Invincible comics, Levy can open up alternate realities that soon become a nefarious curse. After kidnapping Mark Grayson’s mother and kid brother, Levy uses his powers to send Mark to an array of alternate realities. Levy reemerges with a new master plan to recruit other evil Invincibles from alternate realities and use them to sully Mark’s image.
In the comics, Levy sends Invincible to the Marvel Universe, where he meets Spider-Man. This crossover appears to be slyly referenced in the Invincible season 2 teaser as Mark scrolls through his phone. For a split second, it seems he has the cover of Marvel Team-Up #14 on the screen. That issue features Invincible and Spider-Man teaming up. It could only be a nod, although Invincible has also cast Josh Keaton in an undisclosed role.
