The Ohio Ballot Board last week approved language summarizing the amendment that its backers called anti-abortion propaganda.
The races for three Ohio Supreme Court seats this November will help determine the fate of several energy policy cases, including those that impact ratepayers in Ohio.COLUMBUS, Ohio – The campaign backing the proposed abortion rights amendment said Monday it is asking the Ohio Supreme Court to require that the Ohio Ballot Board rewrite language that will be printed on Nov. 7 ballots.
The backers, a coalition called Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights, is asking the court to issue an order, or writ of mandamus, directing the Ohio Ballot Board to adopt the full text of the amendment as the ballot language, instead of the summary it passed last week. Alternately, the court may direct the Ballot Board to correct blatant inaccuracies, the coalition said in a Monday statement.
