on new charges of sex trafficking underage girls, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta defended his plea agreement with Epstein more than a decade ago as top Democrats call for his resignation. In a series of tweets, Acosta said Epstein’s crimes are “horrific” and with new evidence and testimony, the new charges offer “an important opportunity to more fully bring him to justice.” He said he’s “pleased” prosecutors are moving forward with the case based on new evidence.
