A new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse image teases that Gwen will meet Miles Morales' Mom and Dad in the upcoming animated sequel. After the first film proved popular upon its release in 2019 due to its multiversal storyline and inventive animation styles, Miles' story was confirmed to be continuing in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and another additional sequel. The first sequel, which is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Although Gwen has already been shown off in several Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailers, a new image shared by Agents of Fandom on Twitter teases one particular scene in the upcoming sequel. The image features Gwen, out of her superhero suit, meeting Miles' parents seemingly for the first time.
The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse features Gwen saying "We are supposed to be the good guys," to Spider-Man 2099, hinting that perhaps the Spider Society she gets welcomed into starts down a dark path. It's not clear what exactly Gwen is referring to with this line, but it could well be teasing could that a rift will form between her and Spider-Man 2099 due to a difference in their crime-fighting philosophies.
Although the context of the latest image is not yet known, it's clear that both Gwen and Miles will open up to each other on a deeper level in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Miles and Gwen have firmly remained friends thus far, but it's certainly possible that the upcoming sequel will explore whether there's any romantic connection between the two young heroes.
