“The urgent care centre is a vital resource that will provide accessible and high-quality health-care services to those in need.” Pleasant Hill school, located at 215 Avenue S South, is one block away from St. Paul’s Hospital on Saskatoon’s west side. The province bought the site in December 2022 and the city later issued a demolition permit.Article content
The site is large enough to accommodate the new urgent care centre, the province noted, adding that having the facility near St. Paul’s will help mitigate“We are pleased to have an agreement with Ahtahkakoop Cree Developments and see the Saskatoon urgent care centre project moving forward,” Health Minister Paul Merriman said.Construction on Regina’s urgent care centre is more than half completed and the facility is expected to open next year.
The Saskatoon centre “will be staffed with a multidisciplinary care team, including mental health professionals, to provide patients better access to urgent medical attention for a variety of needs and will provide Saskatoon residents another option for more immediate access to health care not only for physical needs, but also for mental health concerns,” Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Andrew Will said.
