If you were making a new flag for the city of Akron, how would you design it?

The city of Akron is asking community members for feedback on its current flag and whether it’s time to consider redesigning the flag. Interested community members canAkron has had an official flag since 1965. It has been updated twice: in 1996 and again in 2009. The city’s current flag features the city seal – a shield with stars and stripes with “Akron” in bold font in the center of the shield. A blue ring encircles the logo with the text “All-American City.
Community members Ken Evans and Floco Torres have encouraged the city to have a discussion about its flag and whether it should be refreshed, according to the city. The five-question survey asks community members questions such as:If you were making a new flag for Akron, what do you think should be on it?
The survey comes as the city this week unveiled a new city logo during the mayor’s State of the City address. The blue and orange chevron-shaped logo features an outline of the city’s Rubber Worker statue, which was created by Ohio sculptor Alan Cotrill and installed at the intersection of Main and Mill streets in downtown Akron in May of 2021.
