TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Having no control over their own destiny, the seventh ranked Crimson Tide made a statement win Saturday against in-state rival Auburn, beating the Tigers 42-24.
The Tide took the lead when Young capped off an eight play drive with a short pass to Jase McClellan who ran the rest of the way for a 10-yard touchdown. Young completed five passes on the ensuing drive, including a 32-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Corey Brooks. Alabama received the ball to start the second half. Young completed passes for 10 and 13 yards before taking off for an 18-yard run to get into Tiger territory. Six plays later, McClellan rushed up the middle for a two-yard touchdown to go up 42-14.
