HOOVER, Ala. - Police say a 25-year-old Alabama woman, who disappeared after calling 911 to report a toddler walking on the side of the interstate, has been found alive.
“We work with facts,” Derzis said. “With social media, you got so many people that think they know what’s taken place. Right now, we’re just very pleased that she’s home.” Police say the Hoover 911 Center received a call from the 25-year-old around 9:30 p.m. Thursday as she returned home from work. She reported seeing a toddler walking on the side of I-459 South near mile marker 11.
Officers arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found Russell’s car and some of her belongings nearby, but they were unable to locate her or a child. Hoover Police also said it received no reports of a missing child. obtained by WBRC, you see the spot on the interstate where Russell disappeared. The video shows the driver-side door open of a vehicle that is presumed to belong to the 25-year-old. The engine was still running when police arrived at the scene.
