The university has strengthened its partnership with the Alamo Colleges to link up cost-free degree programs at both institutions.After back-to-back graduations with no ceremony or stage during the coronavirus pandemic, Nia Houston is looking forward to finally having that moment in May, when she’ll get her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

“How did I get this lucky twice?” Houston asked in disbelief. “Me being able to get my associate’s degree and bachelor’s without any debt? Now, if I have to get into a little bit of debt to get my master’s, it won’t be a big deal … It would be a minor inconvenience for a big-time success.” “Financially, this was just a blessing, on a blessing, on a blessing,” Houston’s mom, Naana Butler, said. “I’m a single mom, and you know, financially, any assistance I can get to help them be greater than me, greater than themselves, I’m looking for it.”
