Because, yeah, my family is this bird, and this tree and all of my ancestors who I miss all the time. I am not alone in the world. I’m really watching and being part of it with deep appreciation. Sometimes when we discuss climate crisis, it’s so heavy and so overwhelming that there’s that level of giving up, right? But we have to keep living. And you know, that whole improv game: “Yes, and.” Yes to grief, but also joy.
Someone asked me what my muse was, and I said, the world? I find everything weird. I think it’s weird that we’re animals that wear clothes. [I think some of my projects are just done, but I’ve never had a regret working on a creative project that fails. Never. They all taught me something. I learned a lot from…I don’t even like to call it failure, because that’s so heavy and loaded. I learned a lot from attempts.
