Adam Block has joined Amazon Music for the newly-created role of global head of music catalog.
Block will drive the catalog music strategy for Amazon Music, while building partnerships with labels and artists, with the intention to bolster artists' legacies in the streaming era. Based in New York, he will report to Amazon Music director Block hails from Sony Music Entertainment, where he spent 26 years in various roles. Most recently, he served as president of Legacy Recordings.
Before Sony Music, he began his career at EMI Music/EMI Records in the press and marketing departments. Block is the co-chair of the Asbury Park Music in Film Festival. He is also a founding partner of Los Angeles-based multimedia company, Jazz Is Dead.
