Amazon said it is its first new operations facility opened this year in the United States.
The facility at 1156 Four Star Drive in Rapho Twp., Lancaster County, will officially open on April 5.Amazon said it has more than 40 operations centers in Pennsylvania.
In 2021, Amazon said the facility “will power Amazon’s last-mile delivery capabilities to increase efficiency of deliveries to customers in Lancaster County.” At the time, Amazon has said it would employ about 100 people, full and part time. In 2019, Amazon opened a delivery hub in Conewago Industrial Park in West Donegal Twp., also in Lancaster County.
“Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order fulfillment process,” the company said. “Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers, and then loaded into vehicles for delivery to customers.”If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
