A spokesperson for American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy says production for season 12 honors the ongoing WGA strike after claims of no support.
American Horror Story season 12 production still honors the Writers Guild of America and their ongoing writers' strike amid claims of no support. Season 12 is titled American Horror Story: Delicate and will be based on the upcoming book Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT According to Variety, a spokesperson for American Horror Story: Delicate's Murphy has called accusations of no support for the writers' strike "absolute nonsense. Categorically false." As of writing, American Horror Story: Delicate has not stopped production due to the writers' strike. Two other series by Murphy, American Horror Stories season 3 and American Sports Story season 1, remain in production as well.
Will The Writers Strike Impact American Horror Story: Delicate? The ongoing writers' strike has impacted the production of many movies and TV shows as writers fight for equal pay and treatment within the industry. Shows that have halted production due to the strike include Stranger Things, The Last of Us, Daredevil: Born Again, Andor, Severance, Billions, and Yellowjackets.
Because American Horror Story: Delicate is being filmed in Manhattan, the WGA can have picket lines set up near where the series is shooting. Recently, American Horror Story: Delicate star Kim Kardashian was shaded by Law & Order: SVU showrunner Warren Leight for crossing the WGA's picket lines to film the horror anthology series. Leight also posted now-deleted tweets regarding the allegations about crew members being threatened to keep working on Murphy's in-production series.
While these allegations about American Horror Story: Delicate's production is concerning, Murphy's spokesperson makes it clear this is not the case. His statement assures that crew members won't be forbidden from working with Murphy again if they refuse to cross the picket line. Even so, the continued production of American Horror Story: Delicate may not last much longer if other series whose productions stopped are anything to go by.
