Amy Grant says she discovered her heart condition on a routine doctor's visit for her husband, Vince Gill. "I’ll sing to the day I die," she said."Music… that changes everything. Music takes any manual task and suddenly you’ve got a soundtrack and you’re in the movie of your own life and the sun is shining and music changes everything."The six-time Grammy Award winner returned to performing publicly in February 2021 with a follow-up appearance on"Good Morning America," and seemed back on track to continue her career.
Gill told the audience at the time he had not performed the song recently because of"her accident and everything she’s been going through." He added,"I thought how sweet it would be for her youngest to sing this song I wrote for her." "Last week was my first time back on stage, and I can't think of a more gentle way to get back into the limelight than doing a Christmas concert with my dear friend Michael W. Smith," Grant said.
Speaking about the immediate aftermath of the accident, Grant said,"I wrote this long book, in this spiral notebook, and I was just writing to remember. Florida lab to test 550 Tennessee rape kits with $1.5M grantTennessee is outsourcing the testing of at least 550 rape kits to a private Florida lab through a $1.5 million federal grant, the state's lead investigative agency announced Monday in a move aimed at reducing processing times that have drawn scrutiny. In a news release, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the state awarded a contract to DNA Labs International in Deerfield Beach, Florida, after a competitive bid process that began in December. The agency said it plans to submit up to 1,000 rape kits if more grant funding becomes available by the end of the year, at a cost of $2,155 per kit.
