High temperatures around the region Monday should remain above their seasonal averages.
While this was the only daily high broken in Southern California, temperatures well above their seasonal averages spanned the region, meteorologists said. Temperatures in inland areas of Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties all hovered between five to 10 degrees above their seasonal averages, as high marks Sunday reached 99 degrees in Yorba Linda, 104 in Riverside and 106 in San Bernardino, said Dan Gregoria, meteorologist with the NWS.
Similar trends were observed across Los Angeles County, said Kristen Stewart, meteorologist with the NWS. On Monday, Aug. 8, high temperatures around the region are expected to dip slightly, but remain above their seasonal averages, the meteorologists said. The NWS projects Monday’s highs to be 98 in Riverside, 99 in San Bernardino, 88 in Anaheim, 89 in Downtown Los Angeles and 87 in Long Beach.
