The Big Ten released a revised 2024+25 football schedule (and beyond) with the recent additions of Oregon and Washington to the conference.

LOS ANGELES – When Oregon and Washington jumped ship for the Big Ten in early August amid the Pac-12’s dying star, a sketched-out USC football schedule was completely imploded as Big Ten became Big Eighteen, with one certainty remaining: an annual game against UCLA.
“Our view,” said Sandy Barbour, a member of USC’s interim conference transition team, “is that UCLA is going to be our ‘protect.’” A mess of a future schedule plan, however, was finally publicly ironed out on Thursday, with the Big Ten’s announced release of league football opponents. The 2024 season, the conference announced, will debut a “Flex Protect XVIII model,” a combination of protected opponents and rotating teams, playing rotating conference opponents at least twice and no more than three times across the next five years.
USC football will keep a balance of familiarity — that time-honored, annual UCLA crosstown rivalry, plus a game against Oregon or Washington every year for the next five years — with a heap more travel miles and imposing road schedules. “The platforms that all of our student-athletes and coaches will have, being on NBC, Fox, CBS, and then the Big Ten network, are invaluable,” Ed Stewart, a senior associate athletic director for football administration at USC. “That type of exposure for our programs and our student-athletes to showcase their talents, and from a recruiting standpoint, is strong.”What a welcome to the Big Ten.

Wisconsin seeks to remain unbeaten in Big Ten play as it hosts RutgersWisconsin attempts to remain the lone Big Ten West Division team that's unbeaten in conference play as it hosts Rutgers. Wisconsin has won its previous four matchups with the Scarlet Knights by an average of 34.5 points. But this Rutgers team has produced a faster start than usual. A victory over Wisconsin would give Rutgers its first 5-1 start since 2014. The turnover margin could prove critical Saturday. Rutgers has committed just three turnovers in its first five games. Wisconsin has forced nine takeaways in its last two games.
