Breaking: Anchorage firefighters are responding to a fire in Midtown Anchorage, with a helicopter crew readying to start dropping water.
A large brush fire burns in Midtown on Thursday. “There’s a square from Tudor across Elmore to Dowling,” said Anchorage Fire Department Deputy Chief Alex Boyd. “It’s burning at the center of that green belt. We got about two acres going in dense brush, so we’re going to be here a while.”. It said a helicopter crew was ready to start dropping water.
