NEW YORK — Phil Nevin was not in the dugout to see the end of the Angels’ 3-2, 10-inning loss to the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.
The 3-and-2 pitch to Trout was outside. Trout tossed his bat and took a step toward first when first base umpire Will Little rung him up. That got Nevin out of the dugout, and he was quickly tossed by Little.Although Anthony Rendon was able to move the Angels’ automatic runner to third with a groundout in the top of the 10th, neither Hunter Renfroe nor Gio Urshela could get him in.
