ANAHEIM ― Angels left fielder Taylor Ward made a sliding catch in left-center field, popped up, and threw a strike to second base to complete a double play to end the second inning Tuesday against the Dodgers.“I think it’s just a start that I want to the year, you know?” Ward said.
The Dodgers will host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night, Opening Day across Major League Baseball. The Angels will travel to Oakland to play the A’s. Dodgers starter Ryan Pepiot threw 86 pitches in his final spring training start but lasted only 3⅔ innings as the Angels clogged the bases with traffic in every inning.
