Another Pacific storm will soak California next week. Fortunately, it won't be anything like the record-smasher in late October.

Before that storm arrives, valley rain showers and mountain snow will persist through the weekend in the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies.Current Satellite and Atmospheric MoistureThat more potent storm will be pushed by the Pacific jet stream into the West Coast later Monday into Tuesday.The Setup For Monday NightSecondly, the storm will move faster, arriving later Monday, and exiting into the Rockies by Tuesday night.
However, much of northern California, including the Sacramento Valley and the central coast, has a good chance of picking up an inch of rain from this storm. Locally higher amounts are possible in the coastal ranges and Sierra foothills at elevations too warm for snow.
