At 22 years and 59 days old, Pebbles, a 4-pound toy fox terrier, is the oldest living dog.
Pebbles, who resides in Taylors, South Carolina, edged out the previous record holder, a chihuahua named TobyKeith, by nearly a year, Guinness World Records announced Thursday.After the news broke of TobyKeith's title in March, Pebbles's parents were certain he would beat the record.
"Bobby was sitting on the couch, and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog getting the record,” Julie Gregory, one of Pebbles's owners, told Guinness World Records."When I saw TobyKeith’s story all over the news, I applied.” Sure enough, two months after TobyKeith was crowned the record holder, the baton was passed to Pebbles.
“She loves listening to country music while she is sleeping.
