'Archie Meets Flash Gordon' will send the Riverdale gang to space
, but in June, Archie’s Pals and Gals will go further than they’ve ever gone before, teaming with a sci-fi icon in the one-off comic bookFlash Gordonmainstay Dan Parent. In the book, the Riverdale gang discovering a crashed alien spaceship that leads them to the planet Mongo and Ming the Merciless, with Flash Gordon in tow.
Added Archie Comics co-president Alex Segura: “Flash Gordon is an iconic, sci-fi/pulp hero, and in the long tradition of great, off-the-wall Archie crossovers, this seemed like a perfect next step. When we were thinking of creative for this, Jeff Parker, who did a bang-up job on, was atop our list. And no one is better equipped to give this one-shot the classic, retro-but-modern vibe that it demands than Archie legend Dan Parent.
