A Lakewood man set two fires behind a business Thursday as he fled an armed robbery a block from police headquarters, authorities said.

As police investigated the robbery scene, a witness directed officers to a black sweatshirt that had been set on fire behind a nearby business. The fire was quickly extinguished, but officers found a second cardboard fire had been set in the same area. That was also put out. Buitron was identified as the robber based on the witness descriptions and arrested shortly after the incident in area of Third Street and Clifton Avenue, authorities said.
