Friday’s hotel fire brought 75 firefighters in Swatara Township to evacuate people who were reported as trapped inside Friday night. However, all occupants were safely rescued from the burning one-story building. Some required treatment for smoke inhalation by EMS, according to Mike Ibberson, Swatara Township’s Fire Chief.
When firefighters arrived on the scene of the Roadway Inn on the 600 block of Eisenhower Blvd, they were met with heavy smoke and fire throughout the one-story building. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within an hour. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and has since been released, according to Ibberson.The Dauphin County Fire Investigation Team is still investigating the cause of the fire, which was reported at around 9:30 p.m. Friday.READ MORE:
