BREAKING Arrest made after man pulls gun on driver, robs her following Montgomery County crash: Police
Police say a man pulled a gun on a woman in Willow Grove and the entire confrontation was caught on video."Thanks to a timely tip from a member of our community, the actor in this case was arrested in the early morning hours on 2/28/23 without incident," police said.It happened just before 7 a.m. on York Road near Davisville Road."The erratic driver pulls in front of the victim, abruptly - basically cuts her off," Upper Moreland Police Chief Andy Block told Action News.
Surveillance video shows the male suspect getting out of the vehicle and pointing a handgun at the female driver who had bumped into his car. "Immediately after that happens, he comes out of the car, he walks right up to her, he has a handgun, he displays it immediately, he starts screaming at her," Block said.
"She has her cell phone in her hand. She's attempting to call 911 over the incident. He opens the door and rips the cell phone out of her hand," Block said.According to police, the suspect was driving a silver Honda Accord with a dent on the passenger side, as well as a "ventvisor" or window shade on the passenger side front window.
"That's another thing that concerns us as law enforcement, police investigators, that he is out of the car immediately, he has the handgun out already, he walks up calmly, screams at her," Block said.Investigators are working to determine a motive for the incident, but they don't think it was a case of road rage.Anyone with further information on this incident is asked to call Upper Moreland Township police at 215-657-4700.
