Rabbi Tuly Weisz recounts his family's personal experiences amid the Holocaust and relates the meaning of Passover, as well as the significance of the Jewish people throughout history.
On Wednesday, April 5 , Jews gathered for the seder meal to"reenact the ancient exodus from Egypt" and repeat the family stories"passed down from generation to generation," noted Weisz.
"Quick on her feet, my grandmother gave the soldiers the wine on the table, and they left the house.""Every year," Weisz said,"my grandmother reminds her eight grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren of the immortal words of the seder: ‘In every generation, they tried to destroy the Jewish people, but the Holy One Blessed be He, continues to save us from their hands.’", including many members of my extended family.
He added,"Two thousand years ago, the Jewish people were living in Israel and celebrating Passover, not around their family dining room tables, but in the temple in Jerusalem.""Sadly, there was great discord among the different Jewish sects who fought endlessly with one another," Weisz said.
