Snow continued to fall Tuesday morning in northern New Jersey with storm totals of 5 to 8 inches still expected, the National Weather Service says.

A winter weather advisory for Hunterdon and Somerset counties ends at 7 a.m. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected. Precipitation has already changed to rain or ended altogether across the two counties. High Bridge already had 2.8 inches on the ground late Monday night. Wednesday should be sunny with highs in the upper 40s and 50s. Thursday is expected to be mild with highs in the 50s in the northern half of the state and the 60s in South Jersey. There’s also a chance of light rain.
The weather service says determining what type of precipitation will fall in New Jersey is “challenging.”
