Karen Warren/Staff Photographeroptioned righthander Shawn Dubin and recalled righthander Brandon Bielak from Triple-A Sugar Land before Monday’s series finale against the Rangers.
Bielak, who has made eight starts for Houston this season, could fill the open rotation spot created by Ronel Blanco being optioned Sunday. Bielak has a 4.37 ERA in nine total games for the Astros. in place of Framber Valdez, who was skipped due to ankle soreness, and worked four one-run innings in his third major-league appearance and first start.
