The coming together of thousands of gay, queer and transgender youth through LOVELOUD is fun, community-driven advocacy that loudly says you are loved and celebrated.
Also in recognition of National Coming Out Day, AT&T in partnership with The Trevor Project, released its third wave of videos from theircontent series, this time featuring trans advocate and YouTuber Miles McKenna. Miles has over 1 million followers and is best known for his “Miles Chronicles” where he candidly speaks about his transition and sexuality. The series has already showcased a few of the biggest and brightest LGBTQ+ influencers like YouTubers Kalen Allen and Tyler Oakley.
Both LOVELOUD Foundation and The Trevor Project are amplifying the issue of LGBTQ+ youth suicide, with support from AT&T. The suicide rate of LGBTQ+ youth is four times that of their peers and 50% of transgender people have attempted suicide, many before the age of 25. Although the LGBTQ+ community has made significant strides in the last decade there is still work to be done.
