No. 4 seed Nikoloz Basilashvili saved two match points and ousted second-seeded Alexander Zverev in three sets Saturday to reach the final of the Hamburg European Open.
Basilashvili, the defending champion, won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 against the German, who is ranked No. 5 in the world. Basilashvili will meet 21-year-old Russian Andrey Rublev, who battled back to beat Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Rublev won 11 of the match’s final 13 games.Spainard Albert Ramos-Vinolas beat countryman Pablo Andujar for just the second time in eight meetings Saturday to advance to the final in Gstaad, Switzerland.
