Ragging on the Statesman isn’t as much fun now, but sometimes it still needs to happen.
Twenty-odd years ago, when I was on this desk the first time and Kirk Watson was mayor , there was serious bad blood between this newspaper and that other newspaper in the Batcave on South Congress.
But that doesn't mean that there will never be an occasion again to stick a pin in the daily's ass in this column space. Indeed, such an occasion – actually, two occasions – has arisen this very week.
